JoRo is the founder/CEO of Boogla Records. Joe’s inspiration for creating the label (Boogla) began with a chance encounter with a rap artist in 2014. That artist, YoliGhost, has become a large part of the company’s portfolio.

At an early age, JORO was surrounded by musical parents who both graduated from DePaul University’s School of Music. Music was part of his everyday routine. As a young kid, JORO was heavily influenced by bebop jazz, the big band era with artists including Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, Sonny Rollins, Dexter Gordon, and Joe Williams.   Soon after graduating high school, Joe was offered full tuition scholarships for music at the University of IL in Chicago as a non-music major for classical (clarinet) and jazz performance (saxophone). While JORO has worked in both the corporate world and in higher education as an administrator, he has kept up with his music. He performs with a small woodwind quartet and occasionally plays jazz sax. Right now, JORO's musical focus is wrapped around the talents of his artists.
